AEHSA is launching an exciting new and impactful initiative: the ‘Safety First for Students’ Video Contest. This contest offers a unique opportunity for students to think creatively and critically about their own well-being while spreading vital safety messages across the community.
Entering the Contest
Students, Grades 1 – 12 get involved by having a Teacher Lead organize a group or classroom of students create a two minute video on safety. Post-secondary students create and submit the video on their own.
The four categories for the contest and safety topics are as follows:
Elementary School (Grades 1-6) – Safety in the playground
Middle School (Grades 7-9) – Science Safety/Labs
High School (Grades 10-12) – Career & Technology Studies/Fine Arts Safety
Post-Secondary Institutions – Safety in the field or in the lab
Participating teachers/students can complete this Google Form to register. We look forward to many submissions.
The contest will be open to submissions from February 1 to July 5, 2026, with final judging taking place at the 25th anniversary of the annual AEHSA Personal Development Conference on October 6, 7 and 8, 2026 in Calgary. We project significant participation from lead teachers and students and expect significant community engagement through voting and AEHSA social media coverage.

Your sponsorship will directly:
Fund Prizes: Provide meaningful incentives (e.g. technology, gift cards, scholarships) for the winning submissions, encouraging high-quality participation. Although any amount will help, a $100.00 donation earns a bronze sponsorship, $300.00 a silver sponsorship, and $500.00 a gold sponsorship. Also, any donations of swag would also be appreciated to pass on to the students who win.
Support Outreach: Cover promotional costs to ensure broad student and community engagement.
